God is love. John 3:16 reminds us that God’s love is the foundation of our faith and action. When you know God’s incredible love for you in your heart, it’s natural to want to share it with a hurting world. As you pray, let God’s love for the world inspire you to reach out in both prayer and action for the good of children everywhere.
If you’re feeling inspired to pray regularly, you can join thousands of people praying to end poverty. Get a little Compassion in your inbox with our Prayer and Stories emails.
Jesus calls us to love our enemies. How can you pray for the people who cause problems in your life? Ask God to guide your prayers.
If you sponsor a child through Compassion, your prayers for them are a vital and beautiful part of the support you can give. If you’d like more inspiration and guidance on how to pray, our post How to pray for your sponsored child can help. You can also let the child you sponsor know that you’re praying for them by sending a message.
We have ideas and templates to help you find the right words.
Kemi’s life was transformed through the love of God shown by his local church and sponsor.
He shares his remarkable testimony here.
Join Kemi in prayer for children who, like him, face the harsh realities of poverty:
My prayer is for the thousands of children who, like me, cannot speak up for themselves because of poverty; the most vulnerable; those who are orphaned and without support. I pray for their local churches to be equipped to give them the same safety, provision and hope I experienced through the Compassion programme.
If you’re new to Compassion, consider sponsoring a child as a way to join a movement of change-makers who are seeking to share God’s love in the world.
