Pray for the rain to stop

On the 14 and 15 November, provinces in the north of the Dominican Republic were badly hit by severe rains. 131 communities were isolated by flooding and more than 18,500 people were displaced. President Danilo Medina declared a state of emergency in eight provinces.

A week later, our colleagues in the Dominican Republic ask us to keep praying. The rains are still ongoing and the communities of Puerto Plata, Sosua, Gaspar Hernandez and Santiago are facing ongoing battles against the flood waters. Rivers and streams have overflowed again in Sosua and Monte Llano. 

Please join us in praying for the rains to stop so these communities can begin to recover.

We partner with 30 churches in the affected areas. To date, eight have been badly impacted. Please pray for God’s protection for the vulnerable children and families we work alongside.
