Global inequality

Figures released in a new report, An Economy for the 1%, show a growing inequality between the world’s super-rich and those in poverty. 

The report shows that the richest 1% now have more wealth than the rest of the world combined. In comparison, the wealth owned by the poorer half of the world’s population has fallen by a trillion dollars in the past 5 years. 

Please pray for:

• The issues underpinning global inequality. Pray for greater access to education and for minimum wages to be increased. Pray for the promotion of women’s economic equality.
• Organisations like Compassion who are working to empower those in poverty. Pray for Compassion’s work providing 1.7 million children with access to education, health care and vocational training.
