Flooding in Ghana

Flooding in Ghana

At the beginning of July, heavy rains caused a river in the southern region of Ghana to overflow, flooding areas of Assin and Adanse Praso. Several Compassion sponsored children temporarily moved in with relatives and friends because their homes were flooded.

  • 10 beneficiaries from one of our Ghanaian projects are affected.
  • Half of the affected families have been able to return home as the water dries out. Our church partner has provided basic items, such as rice, sugar, soap, clothes, oil and tomatoes to affected children and their families. They also plan to submit a RESPOND Initiative proposal to support rebuilding the homes with the most damage.

Please join us in praying for all those affected. We contact you directly if your sponsored child has been impacted.
