100,000 children sponsored!

At the Big Church Night In event, Loveline from Haiti became the 100,000th child sponsored through Compassion UK! Thank you to Mike and Sarah from near Burford, Oxfordshire, for becoming her sponsors.

As we mark this exciting occasion, we want to give praise to God and take the opportunity to thank each and every one of our sponsors! Because of you, 100,000 children are being released from poverty, in Jesus’ name. By transforming the life of a child in poverty, you’re doing something incredible. 

We’re celebrating by creating a scholarship for nurse training on the Island of La Gonave in Haiti. Justin Dowds, Senior Director of Compassion UK explains, “We thought about how we wanted to celebrate this achievement, and realised it’s not really about us. What we do has always been about the children and it seemed fitting to provide a new learning opportunity for the children in our programme that will not only develop them, but go on to benefit the whole community.”

As thrilled as we are to reach this milestone, our focus will remain on the one. Everything we do is about recognising one child at a time, knowing them by name and enabling them to flourish.
