In Haiti, where 70 per cent of the population lives on less than £1 a day and 80 per cent are unemployed, people are struggling to afford the soaring prices. Like wise, in Bangladesh, the price of food has increased by 50 per cent in the past week. The current cost of one day’s worth of food far exceeds the average family income.
